8-13-11

If I don't get tickets I just might DIE.

P.S.

Opening day? Heck yeah.

Winner!

Oscar Party Sunday was a success! Thanks to Staci, we had a wonderful Oscar party! Lots of friends, food and fun! The best part of the night? Well, there was lots of funny moments...Ed Helms lookalike, Franco as Banksy, Anne sucking, James high, old people RAMBLING, Jello shots, GC cookies, Mark losing, inside jokes....but the best? Colin Firth winning Best Actor. He was SO GOOD in the King's Speech it would have been a travesty if he did not win. And he is easy on the eyes....

The KING

Are we kidding?

Movie Weekend

I may or may not have gone to 3 movies this weekend...I have a problem. INTERVENTION!
But....I loved this movie. Typical Adam Sandler comedy- HILARIOUS with a touch of crudeness. And I don't want to ruin anything so I will just say this: BEST. CAMEOS. EVER.

And let's not neglect the children. They were FABULOUS. Not to mention extremely funny!

Quickly

So. I am in the middle of writing a bunch of school essays right now...not fun...but I thought I would take a moment to write a few quick movie reviews. My brain could use the break anyway...

I Am Number Four: I was SUPER excited for this movie to come out! I read the book a month or so ago and have been obsessed with it ever since. With that said, I was SUPER disappointed with the movie!!!! It did not follow the book very closely and I got extremely frustrated. (there were eyewitnesses to my frustration...don't even worry.) My advice to anyone who wants to enjoy the movie, DO NOT READ THE BOOK. My friend didn't read the book and loved the movie. I on the other hand was annoyed 90% of the time.

Unknown: I have 5 words for this review. LIAM NEESON IS THE MAN. That is all.

Smile

This guy is THE BEST. Watch him on Parks and Rec, Comedy Central, Funny or Die, or anywhere you can find him. His best quality? He NEVER shuts his mouth. Read on for proof...

Mouth OPEN.

OPEN.

Spiderman? OPEN.

A younger Aziz. OPEN.

OPEN.

P.S. For a special treat listen to Aziz talk about his cousin Harris. You will not regret it.

Come on.....

I pretty much need it to be the weekend NOW.

Are we KIDDING?! Liam Neeson is the MAN.

I pray the movie is as good as the book! But if that is not the case, at least I will be able to stare at this hottie for 2 hours!!!

Happy Anna Howard Shaw Day!

Well, it's that time of year again everyone! Anna Howard Shaw Day! Hooray!

Liz Lemon...You are one lucky gal!

Blast from the Past

Here is a blog post from my Junior year of high school. Apparently, I was WAY ahead of my time....
(just change John Legend to Esperanza Spalding and Mariah Carey to Lady Gaga)

So I was reading about the Grammys the other day and laughed. I read that it was the lowest rated Grammys in the past 20 years. Ha ha. I know that I didn't watch it. But after reading that little fact, I had to see what the problem was. So I turned on the tube, and watched. Of course many channels were re-airing them. I bet they thought that if the people didn't watch the first time or the second time they aired, they must want to watch them the third or fourth time they aired, right? Wrong. Word to the wise TV people out there, if the worlds population doesn't watch the Grammy's the first time, they probably won't watch them ever. So play something worth while, like Arrested Development. Anyway, I kind of got off subject, my question is, why didn't people watch the Grammys?

Well I can't tell you why every person didn't watch because there are some who did, but I can tell why I and the majority of the population didn't watch.

Now I am sure there are a few people how kicked themselves and said, " The Grammy's were on? Why the heck didn't my TiVo work?" But for me and the overall world, we didn't want to watch because of the freaking posers, oops I mean musical celebrities. Ok that might have been a little harsh. There probably was, somewhere hidden in a corner, a group of musicians that were there to celebrate music, and not show off their half naked bodies or the girls flanked over each arm. I am almost positive that there were some that were not completely wasted and were not making fools of themselves. And so help me, I know for a fact that there were musicians there who could actually sing without a backup track playing and producers altering their voices on a little machine behind a huge glass window. I am just sure of it.

All of the songs that were nominated, were way over played. I know that if I heard any of those songs again, I would have to take whatever was playing it and beat it to a bloody pulp. Except maybe John Legend. Not many people know about John Legend. Heck I even have to do my research about John Legend. So by the time the Grammys rolled around, a lot of people were sick of the songs that were going to be played all night long. I know that I couldn't sit through another Mariah Carey song. She has like 18 playing on the radio, and there really isn't any proof that they actually are different from each other. But investigations are still going on.

All in all maybe they should just have a mini Grammy show ever other week. That is usually how long the songs are popular for. And maybe if they do that the rating will go up because chances are somebody will turn on there TV, leave the house and forget it is on, and the Grammys will turn on and up goes the ratings. Ha Ha. I make myself laugh.

thank you and goodnight

History in the MAKING.

You guys don't understand. I have looked EVERYWHERE for this picture. The reason I haven't posted in a week or so? THIS PICTURE. The moment I saw it I knew. I knew I had to post about this picture. But I COULD NOT find it ANYWHERE!!! I was so angry! I looked everyday for this blasted photo. I almost gave up today. I was just going to post about it without the pic but thanks to divine intervention, I decided to look for it one last time. And....I FOUND IT!!! Yay! So. Here is my gift to you my peeps....T-SWIFT....NOT, I repeat, NOT looking Asian.

I feel like I have the qualifications to critique any advertisement I see with a model in it. (Thank you America's Next Top Model...) I know many things including, models should always point their toes, to look fierce all you have to do is squint your eyes, and if you don't carry heels in your purse at ALL times, you WILL fail as a model. With that said, this ad is awful! I had to look very closely to even realize it was Taylor Swift. Whoever picked this picture should be fired. And T-Swift should sue. But on the upside, for the first time she looks like the white person that she is. She just looks like an ugly white person.

My Latest OBSESSIONS

Wow friends. Sorry for the non-existent posts of late. Want excuses? I was sick...Lots of homework...Earthquake...Other natural disaster....etc. But really when it comes right down to it, I have been lazy. I was sick though. So that should count for something. Anyways, enough with the apologies. Now on to more important things: My latest obsessions. They are AWESOME. Not going to lie. Here goes!

Ok. I saw this movie last weekend and it was the best decision I have ever made! Colin Firth was AMAZING in it! If he doesn't win the Oscar for best Actor I will be writing a very nasty letter to the academy. I would suggest everyone go see this movie. It has fantastic acting and it is quite an inspiring story as well!

An old school 7-11 store (one without gas pumps) opened in my town about a month ago. BEST THING EVER. Slurpees available down the street 24/7? Yes please! And the best part? They have yet to be out of Pina Colada!

This book is AWESOME! I neglected my school work yesterday and read the last 300 pages because I just couldn't get enough! Seriously. I could not put it down. And when I finished I IMMEDIATELY wanted the next book. But bad news...I doesn't come out until AUGUST!!! I wanted to die! But luckily the movie comes out in 17 days, so that is something to look forward to. It is my new Hunger Games. And that is really saying something!

LOVED her in True Grit. LOVE her at every awards show. Can't wait to see her at the Oscars. I hope she becomes wildly famous. (But stays sweet of course!)

Every moment I have free time I want to play this game. Unfortunately no one in my house likes to play games so I am forced to beg my neighbors to come play because I LOVE it so much! I never thought I would like a card game as much as I like Phase 10. This may be "the one!"
